TV s t a t i c

Static means not moving or changing. It's often used to describe abstract ideas that can't be seen. I know. That's the cruel joke — I named this thing after the feeling I most want to escape.

But static is also what's between channels. The signal that exists when you haven't landed anywhere yet. Not absence — not stagnation. A gentle hum. Something pleasantly fuzzy and alive, wiggly and curious.

I welcome you into my static.
